Hamilton College men's soccer coach Perry Nizzi was given the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association Recognition Award. The award is given by the association to a coach who best exemplifies sportsmanship and excellence in coaching.
Nizzi came to Hamilton last year, leading the Continentals to a 7-5-2 record. Prior to his arrival in Clinton Nizzi was the head men's soccer coach at Herkimer County Community College. He led the Generals to NJCAA Championships from 1994-1996, winning NJCAA Coach of the Year honors three times. He was a Chancellor's Award finalist in 1997-98.
A 1977 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Nizzi was an All-State performer. He and his wife, Michele, reside in Frankfort with their two children.
