
The men's hockey team rebounded from a loss at Trinity on Friday with an 8-3 win over Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Gus Katsuras scored the hat trick to lead the way for Hamilton.
Jeff Corey scored the lone goal in the first period on assists from Rob Gordon and Steve Aubuchon. The Continentals rebounded with five goals in the second period. Craig Kennedy opened the scoring in the second with his goal at the 1:34 mark. Gil Schipani scored his first of two goals on the afternoon just nine seconds later, making it 3-0 Hamilton. After a pair of Wesleyan goals cut the score to 3-2 Schipani struck again on assists from Aubuchon and Scott Gordon. Katsuras and Aubuchon each scored at the end of the second making it 6-2 Hamilton after two periods.
Katsuras sandwiched a pair of goals in the third period between a Wesleyan goal, completing the hat trick. Rob MacNeil started in goal for Hamilton, making 18 saves. Hamilton improves to 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the NESCAC and will travel to Amherst on Tuesday, January 14 at 7 pm.
