SuChin Pak, an MTV News Team correspondent, will speak at Hamilton College on MTV, Gen X and Multiculturalism on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Pak’s appearance in part of the college’s Voices of Color Lecture Series.

SuChin Pak has been a correspondent for the MTV News Team for seven years, and has interviewed numerous celebrities from the music industry. She has also served as co-host of the Video Music Awards, the Movie Awards and Grammy Pre-shows and has been on the red carpet for the Oscars, Golden Globes and the Sundance Film Festival.


Most recently, she’s reported for MTV’s Choose or Lose campaign, traveling the country to cover the presidential election and youth voting issues that included reports from Bush headquarters in Washington, D.C., on election night, youth voting patterns in swing states, protests on affirmative action, reproductive rights and the environment and coverage from the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Pak also traveled to Thailand for the MTV News Special, “After the Tsunami,” and co-hosted a special edition of TRL dedicated to raising donations for the victims of the tragedy.

Her biggest project this past year has been hosting and producing the documentary series, “My Life Translated,” that has dealt with the lives of young people growing up in America with parents from different countries and cultures.

Pak is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley where she majored in political science. The lecture is free and open to the public.
