Professor of Art Robert B. Muirhead has several paintings included in The Copley Society of Boston's invitational show, "Landmarks & Icons: New Views of Old Places." The exhibition continues through March 9.
Through views of urban and suburban life, this exhibition addresses a multitude of topics ranging from the influence of a suburban lifestyle and nostalgia for the vestiges of childhood to issues of class and socio-economics in American commercial architecture. Muirhead's works present dream-like views of space, light, distance and horizon. They reflect a vision of reality as it is filtered through memory and imagination.
Founded in 1879, The Copley Society of Boston is the oldest art association in the United States, representing artists nationwide. For additional information call (617) 536-5049 or go to www.copleysociety.org.
