L'impair de la nation, a novel by Associate Professor of French Joseph Mwantuali, was reviewed on February 8, 2008, in Reperes, a Cameroonian newspaper. The book was published by Les Editions Cle in September 2007. The reviewer praises Mwantuali for "giving to the African Woman a place that few African authors have dared to give her: the position of president."

He also praises Mwantuali's "264-page novel [for its] marvelous mastery of narrative techniques [which allows] the deconstruction of all the ingredients that help to maintain and nourish [totalitarian] power." The review concludes that "with L'Impair de la nation, Mr. Joseph Mwantuali provides a proof that Africa can find resources and expertise in her women, who, as in many other parts of the world, have merged to this distinction of head of state."
