Today I went to visit my mom at her office. She is an optometrist who works on the Upper East Side on 86th street and 5th Avenue. The area where she works is beautiful. It is very residential (for the city) and right across the street from the office is Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. There are many prep schools such as The Marymount School in that area. Dr. Schneider, a Hamilton alumnus and a member of the board of trustees, owns the practice. He is the main reason why I ended up coming to Hamilton. I had never heard of this school until he told my mother about it and suggested that I apply. I am very happy about my decision. When I saw him at the office he was eager to hear about the New York City program and how I was getting along with my roommates. I told him all good things of course.
While at the office I also met Mrs. Schambach; she was a very pleasant woman and was also curious about the program that Hamilton offers in NYC. After my visit to my mom's office I took the bus across town to Bloomingdales to do some shopping! It was a very pretty ride down to 59th street and Lexington Avenue. I probably could have walked but it was way too hot to walk 27 blocks. After my little shopping spree I returned back to the apartment and here I am...writing about my day.
