Hamilton Program in New York City students and Professor Dan Chambliss at Jing Fong in Chinatown.

Participants of the spring 2016 NYC program recently visited Stephen Sadove ’73 to learn about his own career path, his retail and marketing acumen, and his personal Hamilton experience. He spoke highly of his belief in the liberal arts. The students greatly valued this talk because of their own anxieties about graduating with a liberal arts degree.

Katherine Hayse ’17 said, “I’m really grateful for the opportunity we had to hear from Mr. Sadove. He advises students to hone their communication skills at Hamilton, which have been instrumental throughout his career. His commitment to the liberal arts as well as his own college experience reassured me about my future and my own experience at Hamilton College.” Sadove stressed that a liberal arts degree isn’t preparing for a student for the job right after graduation, but rather for a career 10 years down the road.

After the meeting, the group went to Jing Fong, a dim sum restaurant in Chinatown. The group experienced authentic dim sum by eating a variety of foods such as the classic shu mai, sticky rice, chicken feet (feng jiao), char siu bao and egg custard tarts.
