
Anna Oldfield, Asian Studies Postdoctoral Fellow and visiting assistant professor of comparative literature, is publishing "Bridging Turkish with Azerbaijani: Music and Musicians – Azeri Folklore in the 20th Century” as part of a Department of Education funded grant project at the University of Wisconsin Center for Education and
Research.
Titled "A Deep Approach to Turkish Teaching and Learning," this project was developed by Francois Tochon as an interactive series of lessons that use digital media to study language and culture with video, audio, music and text. Oldfield’s chapter, which includes videos of Azerbaijani folk musicians, introduces students of Turkish to the closely related Azerbaijani language and culture. View the project here.
