Before the semester ended some Hamilton Outing Club members took a breather and participated in the Round the Mountain Canoe and Kayak Races in Saranac Lake.
A Hamilton women’s team won second place and a mixed team took fourth in the Unlimited kayak category in the 10.5 mile race.
Hamilton paddlers included Erin Walicki '20, Keith Ruggles '20, Abby Counihan '18, Maggie Horne '19, Audrey Nadler '18, Morgan Walsh '18, Megan Bates '18, and Kim Lifton '20.
Nearly 100 paddlers entered in guide boats, solo, tandem and four-person canoes and a variety of kayaks. The event was sanctioned as a New York State Marathon Canoe Racing Association points race and drew many competitive paddlers from across the state.
