Associate Professor of Economics Ann Owen has co-authored "Income Inequality, Financial Development and Macroeconomic Fluctuations," with Murat Iyigun at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in The Economic Journal published in April.
In February, Owen was selected to be a mentor to junior economists as part of an NSF-funded program aimed at improving the success rate of female economists in academia.
Owen also joined the board of Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP) in January. CSWEP is a committee of the American Economics Association (AEA) whose international membership includes economists in academic, public and private sector jobs. Its overall goal is to improve the status of women in the economics profession.
