Visiting Associate Professor of Religious Studies, Brent Plate was an invited panelist at the Social Scientific Study of Religion conference in Boston. During the conference the film "Enlarging the Kingdom: African Pentecostals in Italy" was screened. The film is the joint creation of an Italian scholar and current Harvard Fellow, Annalisa Butticci, and Nigerian-Italian photographer, Andrew Esiebo. It looks at the rise of West African Pentecostalism in Italy today.
Responding to the film with Plate was a Boston-based filmmaker, Franco Sacchi, and a Christian ethicist from the Andover Newtown Theological Seminary in Boston, Nimi Wariboko.
