Poet and playwright Cornelius Eady will visit Hamilton College and read from his work on Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m. in the Fillius Events Barn, Beinecke Student Activities Village. This event is free and open to the public.
Eady is the author of Brutal Imagination (G. P. Putnam's Sons, 2001); You Don't Miss Your Water (1995); The Gathering of My Name (1991), a Pulitzer Prize nominee; BOOM BOOM BOOM (1988); Victims of the Latest Dance Craze (1985), which was the Lamont Poetry Selection of The Academy of American Poets; and Kartunes (1980). His honors include the Prairie Schooner Strousse Award and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Foundation. He has taught poetry at SUNY Stony Brook, where he directed its Poetry Center, and is currently Herbert Robinson Visiting Professor of Playwriting at The City College of New York and on the faculty at American University.
