The students from "The Natural and Cultural Histories of the Adirondacks" taught by Professor of Chemistry Robin Kinnel conducted a poster session on Monday, Dec. 8. After studying a variety of topics for the semester teams of two chose topics to investigate and developed a visual presentation with an accompanying paper. Posters included "Alternative Energy Sources," "The Philosophers' Camp" and "The Geology of the Adirondacks."
This semester-ending project not only provides them with the opportunity to delve into an area of interest, but also allows them to develop their capabilities in working in teams. The course provides a survey of natural and cultural histories of the park and an examination of ecological, political and social issues.
