
Hamilton President Joan Hinde Stewart participated in a round table, “Women and Literary Tradition: Breaking the Sequence,” in honor of Wellesley College Professor of French Vicki Mistacco’s retirement. The April 30 event was hosted by La Maison Française of Wellesley College. Other round table participants included Professor Mistacco and Martine Reid, professor of French literature at l’Université Charles de Gaulle, Lille III.
President Stewart taught French at Wellesley College from 1970 to 1972. Her scholarship focuses on 18th-century French literature, especially women writers.
