Hamilton President Joan Hinde Stewart along with five other college presidents will be addressing a crowd of nearly 400 educators, journalists and business leaders next Monday, May 5, at  the Innovation + Disruption Symposium hosted by Colgate University at Manhattan’s TimeCenter. The panel of college presidents will focus on the topic of “Seizing the Initiative in the Digital Age.” 

Clayton Christensen, Kim B. Clark professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School and co-founder of the consulting firm Innosight, will deliver the keynote address titled “The Innovative University.” President Stewart with be joined by college presidents Jeffrey Herbst (Colgate University), Adam Falk (Williams College), Raynard Kington (Grinnell College),  Georgia Nugent (emeriti - Kenyon College) and David Oxtoby (Pomona College). in a discussion of the threats and opportunities presented for higher education by the digital age.

In addition to the panel of presidents, the Innovation + Disruption event will feature two presentations on the topic of the liberal arts classroom in the digital age. In the afternoon, career center counselors, academic leaders, and human resources professionals will attend a set of presentations around the theme “Are liberal arts graduates ready for launch?”
