The town hall-style meeting featuring Hamilton College President Joan Hinde Stewart, originally planned for April 25, has been rescheduled for Monday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in the Kirkland Town Library.

President Stewart will offer her impressions of the college and the community formed over the past two years while serving as Hamilton's 19th president. She will discuss current and future initiatives at the college and then take questions.

Stewart was named Hamilton's 19th president on May 13, 2003. She was previously dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of French at the University of South Carolina. A native of Brooklyn, she became the first in her family to earn a college degree when she graduated summa cum laude from St. Joseph's College in 1965. She subsequently was awarded a Ph.D. from Yale University in 1970.
