Professor of Comparative Literature and Creative Writing Emerita Nancy Sorkin Rabinowitz recently participated in a webinar sponsored by NYU’s Center for Ancient Studies. The event was part of a series on “Topics for Challenging Times: Ancient Perspectives on Modern Issues.”
For many years, Rabinowitz has been involved with the Hamilton Oneida Prison Education project. In a presentation titled “Prison Education Programming,” she discussed her work teaching classics at a local prison.
The panel, “Applied Ancient Studies: Outreach, Inclusivity, Community,” was moderated by NYU Associate Professor of Classics in the Modern World Peter Meinek. Other presenters focused on “Greek Drama for Refugees,” “Community Archaeology and Indigenous Populations,” and “Working with Veterans on Homer.”
