Barbara Gold

Barbara Gold, the Edward North Professor of Classics, recently presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) in Boston. Her paper, “Harassment in Academe: Reflections and Coping-Resisting Strategies,” was given at a workshop on “Resist Together: A Practical Guide to Combating Harassment in Classics.”

In her capacity as vice president for professional matters of the SCS, Gold also attended the board of directors meetings and presided over meetings of the six committees that are under her division. She also presided over the annual meeting of the Liberal Arts Classics Chairs that she founded 14 years ago and that meets regularly at the SCS.

In addition, Gold’s review of C. Keane’s Juvenal and the Satiric Emotions appeared in the fall 2017 print edition of Classical Journal.
