Barbara Gold, the Edward North Professor of Classics Emerita, recently attended the annual meeting of the Classical Association of the Atlantic States (CAAS) in Philadelphia.
She presented two papers — “The Wife in Charge, The Husband Humiliated: Power Reversals in Plautus’ Casina” and “Were Female Martyrs Transgendered?”
Gold, who served on the program committee for the meeting, also organized and presided over a panel, presided at another session, and assisted at a session of papers given by undergraduate members of the classics honor society Eta Sigma Phi.
