Barbara Gold

Barbara Gold, the Edward North Chair of Greek and Greek Literature and Professor of Classics, recently gave two talks in New Zealand at Victoria University of Wellington.

Gold spoke to students in an honors course on Sex and Gender in the Ancient World about her forthcoming book on Perpetua: Athlete of God. She also presented a research seminar titled “Sex, Transvestism and Hybridity in Plautus’ Casina: The Wife in Charge, the Husband Humiliated” to the university’s Classics Department.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
