Carl Rubino, the Winslow Professor of Classics Emeritus and senior lecturer in classics, recently gave a talk at New Zealand’s Victoria University of Wellington. “‘The Pale Student of Unhallowed Arts’: Frankenstein, Bad Weather, Aristotle, and the Wisdom of Lucretius” was presented during a meeting of the Classical Association of Wellington.
A version of Rubino’s talk is due to be published this summer in Frankenstein and Its Classics: The Modern Prometheus from Antiquity to Science Fiction. Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner is a co-editor of that volume.
