Visiting Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature Nhora Lucía Serrano recently co-organized two panels on comics at the Modern Language Association (MLA) Conference in Philadelphia.
“Alien Lines: Science Fiction Comics,” a panel on how central projects of science fiction manifest in comics form, and “Graphic Narrative, Comics, and Temporality,” a panel exploring the representation of temporality in comics, were part of the MLA forum on Comics and Graphic Narratives.
Serrano is the chair and an executive committee member of the MLA forum on GS Comics and Graphic Narratives. The group aims to bring greater focus and attention to comics studies within the MLA, and more broadly, within literary studies.
