
Assistant Professor of Literature Pavitra Sundar was an invited presenter during a two-day symposium on the Sounds of South Asia at Northwestern University. The symposium was a follow-up to a speaker series that took place last year at Northwestern.
Sundar’s paper, “A ‘Husky, Heavy Voice’ on Screen,” centered on Usha Uthup, one of India’s first pop (and jazz) divas.
