Quincy Newell

Associate Professor of Religious Studies Quincy Newell was recently appointed co-editor of the Mormon Studies Review, a publication of the University of Illinois Press. The role will be shared with Benjamin E. Park, assistant professor of history at Sam Houston State University.

Newell previously served on the journal’s editorial advisory board and worked with Park as a member of the Mormon History Association’s Board of Directors.

The University of Illinois Press describes the Mormon Studies Review as an annual journal that “offers scholars and interested non-specialists a one-stop source for discussions of current scholarship on Mormonism, ranging across disciplines and gathering voices from a broad cross-section of the academy, both LDS and non-LDS.”

“Contributions traverse many different disciplines, topics, centuries, and nations, and touch on issues related to religion, politics, gender, race, and class,” the publisher notes.
