This year, in what may become a Family Weekend tradition, the English Department sponsored a reading of prize-winning student work in creative writing. Cafe Opus 2 provided refreshments to the more than 100 audience members as students read aloud selections of their own short prose and poetry in the Science Center Atrium. The students selected to read their work during this event:  Katie Naughton '08 and Emily Tang '08, winners of the Thomas E. Meehan Prize in Creative Writing; Christopher Parmenter '10, winner of the Adam Gordon Poetry Prize for Freshmen; Fiona MacQuarrie '09, winner of the Rose B. Tager Prize in Fiction; Rachel Richardson '09, winner of the George A. Watrous Prize in Poetry; and Nicole Dietsche '09, winner of the George A. Watrous Prize in Fiction.
