Two Hamilton College studies examine the situation of refugees in Utica, NY. Associate Professor of Economics Paul Hagstrom released a study concluding that although refugees present an initial challenge to the Utica area they are a long-term benefit. Reed Coughlan and Judith Owens-Manley, through the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center at Hamilton College, released a study catalouging psychological, social and economic adaptations of the Bosnian refugees and the strategies they have used for successful adjustment.
