Hamilton College welcomed back 1,100 alumni and their guests when it hosted its annual Reunion Weekend on Thursday-Sunday, June 3-6. Highlights of this year's reunion included performances by national recording star, singer and songwriter Jen Shankman '94 and perennial favorite, the Alumni All-Star Jazz Band, one of the longest playing college alumni jazz bands in America.

Twenty Alumni College classes provided intellectual stimulation for returning alumni and their guests. They included tours of the Hamilton College Arboretum; a discussion on Handicapping the Election of 2004; Jazz Greats: Video Interviews from Hamilton's Jazz Archive; a lecture, "Inside the Truman White House and Beyond", featuring former speechwriter for President Truman, author, nine-term Congressman and four-term Virginia Secretary of State and college professor Ken Hechler; and "Transplantation and Modernity: The Chinese /American Poems of Angel Island."

The Emerson Gallery  featured two alumni exhibits; one of photographs by Ted Blackmar '44 and another of the paintings of Elihu Root Jr., class of 1903.

Also during the weekend, reunion classes heard a State of the College Address from President Joan Stewart, celebrated at class dinners, held class meetings and participated in a moving Service of Remembrance for deceased alumni.

Help us provide an accessible education, offer innovative resources and programs, and foster intellectual exploration.
