Richard Bernstein '80, chief U.S. strategist at Merrill Lynch, was among five financial experts featured in a USA Today investment roundtable article that provides advice for investors in 2005 (12/20/04). Bernstein, who was asked if he's turning bullish on stocks, said "Two important things drive stocks: corporate earnings and interest rates. The Federal Reserve is raising rates and earnings growth is slowing. I don't see how that's the making of a continuing bull market."
