
Carl Rubino, the Edward North Professor of Classics, was elected president of the Classical Association of the Atlantic States for 2006-2007, at its recent meeting in Baltimore. In this capacity he will preside over the association's Centennial Meeting, which will be held next October in Washington D.C.
At the Baltimore meeting, he presided over a session on "Gender and Identity in Latin Literature and Roman Society" and directed a workshop session on "Augustus, Augustanism, and Teaching the Advanced Placement Vergil and Latin Literature Syllabi."
