
Carl A. Rubino, the Edward North Professor of Classics, presided over the centennial meeting of the Classical Association of the Atlantic States in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 4-7. Rubino is president of the organization and chairs the Classics Department at Hamilton.
He also presided over and participated in two plenary sessions "A Century of Classics in the Cinema" and "Representing our Ancestors: A Roundtable Discussion," in which Shelley Haley, professor of classics and Africana studies, also participated. As associate editor and book review editor of the American Journal of Philology, Rubino also took part in the panel "A Century of Developments in Classical Scholarship and Pedagogy."
