Professor of Classics Carl Rubino is the recipient of a Christian A. Johnson Teaching Fellowship that enabled him to travel to Nevis in January and New York City in February to do research on Alexander Hamilton, with a view to incorporating it into the sophomore seminar he teaches with Frank Anechiarico. Rubino and Anechiarico plan to:
- organize a conference called "Hamilton on Nevis" that will feature several speakers from the island. The conference will be embedded into the seminar and will give students a clear picture of the meteoric nature of Hamilton's career.
- Take the class to New York for the purpose of visiting "The Grange," Hamilton's country house.
- Explore ways of establishing connections between Nevis and the college.
