Professor of Art Bill Salzillo's intaglio, The Cabinet, is one of 63 works chosen for the exhibition, White, Black, and Shades of Gray at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, Mass. Professor of Art Bruce Muirhead had two etchings accepted. They are "Power Station" and "Smoker." The exhibition "offers distinctive, imaginative imagery in all media" by artists from across the nation, according to the show prospectus.
Sidney Hurwitz, who taught printmaking for 30 years at Boston University, curated the show which opens on March 6 with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition closes on April 9.
The Cabinet was inspired by Salzillo's research into early patterns of collecting at Hamilton as represented by the Knox Cabinet.
