Alumni, parents and friends will gather in San Francisco on April 1 to celebrate the artwork of Gina Werfel K'73 at the ADLER& Co Gallery. The date coincides with San Francisco's "first Thursdays" art tradition.
Werfel is a professor of art at the University of California, Davis. She majored in art at Kirkland College and then earned an MFA from Columbia University. Her work has also been exhibited at the numerous galleries around the country.
According to the gallery's website, "Werfel's new work, her exploration of scapes narrates a beguiling dialogue of space, energy, chaos and structure. The results are exhilarating, untamed, non-objective panoramas. Werfel's paintings dance in their confined space with a riotous, come-hither energy. Her abstractions are fluid, unraveling, cohesive and illusory -- a sublime visual paradox."
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., attendees will enjoy an exhibit, gallery talk, and reception featuring Werfel's art at the gallery located at 77 Geary Street Suite #201. Wine and light fare will be served.
