After Hamilton graduation, I dove right in to academia. Not sure what to expect from a masters in musical theater at the Boston Conservatory, I found myself in a program that couldn't have been more different from my time at Hamilton. Instead of music history and comparative literature, I took musical theater scene study, jazz, tap, ballet, song interpretation and more. The two years flew by and left with me with tons of theater knowledge and a close group of fellow-grad friends.

I loved my time in Boston, largely because of the awesome Hamilton network I had there. My first year, I lived with Alicia Cardina '05 and Kellyn Shoecraft '05 and down the street from Sondra Conti '05. This kept me well in tune with my Hamilton roots! I attended several Hamilton alumni functions and always looked forward to the Hamiltones/Buffers trip to Boston, during which I would sing in the concert and happily make a fool of myself! I regularly saw fellow Boston dwellers Erica Hassink, Jessica Kent, Carima Shaw, Nate Stell, Jack Hicks, and Jeff Dyer.

This past summer, after my Boston Conservatory graduation, I went away to do my first real theater job at a summerstock theater in Pennsylvania called Millbrook. I had the time of my life doing three shows in succession and making plenty of wonderful new friends. Hamilton stayed close to me throughout, especially when (Professor of Music) Rob and Lauralyn Kolb made their way down to see me.

I have been living in New York City for exactly one week. My life of auditioning has just begun, so I will hopefully have more to report in the weeks to follow! I look forward to connecting with a new Hamilton network here, starting with Dave Hartman '04. I am confident that wherever I go and whatever I do, Hamilton will follow me with its warm, familiar spirit!
