Hamilton junior Michael Schantz poured in a career-high37 points on 12 of 16 shooting in leading the host Continentals to a 90-81 winover Wesleyan University at Scott Field House.

Schantz added 14 rebounds and five assists, while fellow junior JonSchmiegel pulled down a game-high 18 boards. Senior Kevin Thorpescored 18 points for the Continentals, while junior Max Stromanadded15 points.

Hamilton jumped out to a 40-34 halftime advantage, and extended their lead to62-50 midway through the second half. The Cardinals, behind the three-pointshooting of Sean O'Brien (22 points, 4-6 from three-point range), cutthe Continental lead to four on two different occasions. However, Hamilton hiton 16 of 25 free throws in the second half to keep Wesleyan at bay.

Schantz scored 19 points in the first half, and 18 in the second. He isnow scoring at a 24.9 clip per game while averging over 12 rebounds.Schmiegel was held to eight points, stopping his consecutive"double-double" string at four games, but has now averaged 15.8 rebounds in hislast five games.

Hamilton improves to 12-7, and have won five of their last six. TheContinentals entertain 17-2 Conn. College Saturday at 3 p.m.
