Leeann Brigham '09, one of Hamilton's Senior Fellows, is profiled in a column in her hometown newspaper, The Troy Record (12/19/08). Brigham is studying an animal model of schizophrenia as her Senior Fellow project. She hopes to spend next year at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden studying the neural circuits involved in motor control.
In the article Brigham explains, "The field of neuroscience fascinates me because it allows us to seek biological answers to abstract questions about human nature." She adds that "While research was incorporated into my laboratory classes, designing experiments and collecting data is a huge component of my project. Getting significant results ha made this all the more enjoyable – all the lab time has paid off," Brigham says.
