Three Hamilton seniors attended the 43rd annual meeting of the Northeastern Section of the Geological Society of America in March at SUNY-Buffalo. Taylor Burt, Andrew D'Amico and Tim Fox presented their senior projects as posters. Eugene Domack, The Joel W. Johnson Family Professor of Geosciences, is advisor to the students and also attended.
Taylor Burt presented "Geochemical analysis of an Antarctic deep water coral as a climatic archive and source for radiocarbon age correction in the Ross Sea"; Andrew D'Amico's project was titled "Discovery of a new plant macrofossil from Lower Permian glacial marine mudstones in Tasmania: implications for paleoclimate during deposition of post glacial Tasmanite horizons"; and Tim Fox and Paul Hoffman of Harvard University presented "Clast Provenance and Geochemistry of the Ghaub Formation, Northern Namibia."
