Rebecca Wadler '00, a representative of the Sierra Club, will speak about global over-population and its adverse environmental impacts, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m., in the Red Pit at Hamilton. The talk is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Hamilton Environmental Action Group.

Wadler’s appearance is part of the Sierra Club and Izaak Walton League Nationwide Population Justice Environment (PJE) Book Tour. It will explore connections among population growth, climate change, women's rights and global justice. The PJE Book Tour highlights a new book edited by Laurie Mazur and being published in October by Island Press, titled A Pivotal Moment: Population, Justice and the Environmental Challenge.
As part of the Sierra Club's PJE Challenge Campaign, the tour aims to generate awareness and mobilize action for renewed U.S. global leadership on human rights, community health, gender equality and environmental protection.
