Associate Director of Institutional Technology and Co-Director of the Digital Humanities Initiative Janet Simons presented a paper at the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE) Summit on March 26, in New Orleans.
The paper was developed with Professor of Africana Studies and Co-Director of the Digital Humanities Initiative Angel David Nieves and was presented as part of the Digital Humanities and the Liberal Arts College panel during the summit. Representatives from Wheaton and Occidental College also participated in the discussion of digital humanities efforts on their respective campuses. The discussion included how to support the needs of this scholarship, how to pursue this work in liberal arts contexts and the possibilities for inter-institutional collaboration.
NITLE is a non-profit initiative established in 2001 through a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Its focus is on the integration of technology into teaching, strategies for managing technology on small campuses, as well as the impact and implications of emerging technology.
