The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up the regular season with a non-conference doubleheader sweep against the SUNY Polytechnic Wildcats at Hamilton's Loop Road Softball Complex on Wednesday evening.

Hamilton (28-9 overall) won the opener 6-0 for its 27th victory of the season, the most wins of any Hamilton College team in history. The 1990-91 men's basketball team held the previous record at 26 triumphs. The Continentals added an insurance win when they ended the nightcap in five innings by a score of 8-0. SUNY Polytechnic concludes its season with a 14-21 overall record.

The Continentals head to Medford, Mass. this weekend for the NESCAC Championship hosted by Tufts University. As the No. 2 seed in the West Division, Hamilton -- making its first-ever appearance in the conference championship -- faces off against Trinity College, the No. 3 seed in the East Division, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The winner then moves on to the semifinal game at 2:30 p.m. and the championship game is Sunday at 10 a.m.
