Homemade cookies, turkey and all the trimmings, pies topped with whipped cream, lots of candy... As we approach the calorie-laden holiday season, it's not too early to start thinking about how to avoid the temptation of goodies or at least manage one's weight. Hamilton offers employees several ways to keep fit, including a lunchtime aerobics program, yoga/Pilates and Weight Watchers at Work.
Noon Hour Aerobics
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the
Alumni Gym, led by Lisa Magnarelli and Melek Ortabasi. This program
features step aerobics and sculpting on Mondays; cardio-kickboxing on
Wednesdays and step aerobics and conditioning on Fridays. Classes begin
at 12:10 p.m. and end just before 1 p.m. Steps are provided; all you
need is water and a towel or yoga mat and light hand weights (if
desired) for the sculpting classes. Contact Lisa Magnarelli, ext. 4194,
for more information on the Noon Hour Aerobics class. Registration is
not required, just come ready to work out! This program is free to
Hamilton employees.
Weight Watchers At Work
As
the holidays approach, weight loss is not always the first thing on
everyone's mind. However, it is the perfect time to join Weight
Watchers at Work (WWAW) and learn how to enjoy the holidays in a new,
healthy way. Weight Watchers offers two plans now to fit your lifestyle
and preferences, and you will join a solid support group that has lost
several hundred pounds!
The next eight week session begins on
Wednesday, Nov. 30, at noon in the Assembly Room on the third floor of
Bristol Center. The cost is $85 for new members, $80 for current
members and $72 for Lifetime members not within 5 pounds of their goal
weight.
