Lecturer in Music Performance Jeff Stockham had a role in Steven Spielberg’s movie Lincoln. According to an article in JazFax, Stockham was a member of the U.S. Marine Band that played at a ceremony at which President Lincoln delivered a speech.

In addition, four of  Stockham’s vintage instruments were used in the movie. Twelve of his original Musician Swords were worn by members of the band and the drum major in the scene used Stockham’s five-foot tall mace.

This was not Stockham’s first involvement with the big screen. In 2002, several of his vintage saxhorns and period cornets were used in the Academy Award-winning movie Cold Mountain. Stockham also worked as a music consultant and provided clothing and instruments for Copperhead, a movie expected to be released in 2013.
