
David Stoughton, resident lighting designer and director of Technical Theatre, was a panel member at The Working Class Studies Association conference in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 5. The panel was titled "Crude Language in Ivory Towers: The role of language and attitude in working-class instructors' classrooms."
It explored the role of language, identity, and attitude in the classrooms of working-class academics, and how these three characteristics enhance credibility within the classroom, creating an environment of mutual respect and accountability.
