Aaron Strong, assistant professor of environmental studies, recently published an article on coastal climate change impacts in BioScience with colleagues from Duke, the University of North Carolina, the University of Maryland, Resources for the Future, George Washington University, and Villanova.
Titled, "The Invisible Flood: The Chemistry, Ecology, and Social Implications of Coastal Saltwater Intrusion," the paper discusses and models one of the slower impacts of climate change: saltwater intrusion into coastal lands. The article grew out of a collaborative workshop hosted at the National Science Foundation's National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center.
