Hamilton alumni and several members of the class of 2004 participated in the Geological Society of America's Northeast and Southeast Sectional Meeting on March 25 - 27 in Washington, D.C. Heather Johnson '03 and Amy Landauer '04 presented projects for the session dedicated to geo-science education in grades K-12. Amanda Waite '03, Tricia Kowalski '03, Sarah Nagel '04, Kristin Dillner '04 and Gillian Chapman '04 presented projects for the session highlighting undergraduate research. Their faculty advisor was Cynthia Domack, professors of geology.

The Geological society of America is "a broad, unifying scientific society" whose mission is to "advance the geosciences, to enhance the professional growth of its members, and to promote the geosciences in the service of humankind" (www.geosociety.org). The society, established in 1888, that promotes exploring and understanding all aspects of life on Earth and beyond, as well as providing access to resources necessary for researching to scientists in various professional fields.
