Charles Driscoll, professor of environmental systems engineering at Syracuse University, presents "Acid Rain and the Adirondacks: Diagnosis and Prognosis," Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in K-J Red Pit. The talk is in conjugation with the sophomore seminar Forever Wild: The Cultural and Natural Histories of the Adirondack Park and sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty's Office.
Driscoll directs the Center for Environmental Systems Engineering and his research has been supported by major grants from NSF, EPA, EPRI, the Dreyfus Foundation, the Keck Foundation, and other agencies and businesses. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board for Environmental Science and Policy. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation and the Upstate Freshwater Institute. He regularly provides briefings to Congressional committees on a range of environmental issues.
