THE BELLE OF AMHERST TO BE PERFORMED AT HAMILTON

William Luce's Tony award-winning play The Belle of Amherst, featuring New York actress Mary Wadkins, will be performed at Hamilton College on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 8 p.m., in the Minor Theatre. Admission is free and open to the general public.

The Belle of Amherst is a riveting one-woman play that interprets the life of poet Emily Dickinson. With readings from her poems, letters and diaries, Luce gives a full portrait of the artist as an often-tortured soul.

Wadkins, performing the role of Emily Dickinson, has been praised by critics and educators across the country. She has worked in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and has been nominated twice for "Best Actress" of the year. Her film credits include Crimes and Misdemeanors and American Blue Note.
