Associate Professor of Africana Studies Nigel Westmaas published a chapter titled “Musings on Walter Rodney, the Black Power Movement and Race and Class in Guyana” in a new book, The Fire That Time: Transnational Black Activism and the Sir George Williams Occupation (Black Rose books, 2021).
The book (arising from a conference in 2019) commemorates the 50th anniversary of the massive student protest against racism at the George Williams University (now Concordia University) in Canada in 1969.
