Clinton, NY -- The Performing Arts at Hamilton (Classical Connections, On the Town and Contemporary Voices and Visions) presents an exciting roster of artists this season , from masterful chamber music, uplifting gospel music, passionate flamenco dance and experimental theatre by a MacArthur "genius" award winner. There's something for everyone! All performances are held in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts on the Hamilton College campus. The Classical Connections music series opens with the world-renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 3 pm. Described as "the nation's premier chamber organization," the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presents a concert that includes Wing and a Prayer by 1999 Pulitzer Prize winner and Hamilton alum Melinda Wagner. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic, under the direction of Wojciech Rajski, takes the Wellin stage on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 8 pm. Joined by piano virtuoso Christopher Taylor and oboe master Simon Dent, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic performs works by Richard Strauss, Bach, Mozart and Gorecki. On Saturday,Nov. 13 at 8 pm, The Clerks' Group from Great Britain presents a concert of English Renaissance music. The Clerks' were recently awarded Gramophone magazine's "Early Music Recording of the Year." This marks their first North American tour! The Classical Connections series ends on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 3 pm with The Ying Quartet. Joined by Hamilton College Professor of Music, E. Michael Richards, the Ying Quartet performs a memorable concert exploring the works of Copland, Barber, Ravel and Mozart.

The Toronto-based Quartetto Gelato opens the On The Town series on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 8 pm. This band of musical chameleons, combine an intelligent and witty mix of classical favorites, folk ballads, tangos and gypsy fiddling to create a musical treat for audiences of all ages. The Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company displays its brilliant physicality, daring choreography and superior technical ability on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 8 pm. This performance is presented by the Mohawk Valley Dance Partnership comprised of the Arts in Education Institute of the Central NY Community Arts Council, Hamilton College and the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute. Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the acclaimed unaccompanied 10-man Zulu choir makes a rare visit to central NY on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8pm. This ensemble harmonizes with the velvety depth of a church organ and offers some synchronized dance steps along the way. Six-time All-Ireland fiddle champion Martin Hayes and guitarist Dennis Cahill bring the magic of Celtic music to the Wellin stage on Friday, April 14 at 8 pm. Martin Hayes has been described as "the most important individual musician in Ireland right now."

The award-winning gospel sextet, The Mighty Clouds of Joy opens the Contemporary Voices and Visions series on Friday, Sept. 17 at 8 pm. Hailed as one of the greatest gospel groups of all time, these musicians who are equally adept at pleasing folk, jazz, blues and rocks fans, still return to their roots - the generations of African Americans who gave them their start in churches, big and small, across the country. Discover the passionate world of flamenco on Friday, Oct. 1 at 8 pm when La Conja Mimbre Y Vareta Flamenco Ensemble. La Conja, one of Flamenco's most versatile artists, has developed a reputation for her startling ability and fire as a dancer and singer. Recipient of the MacArthur Foundation "genius" award, one-of-a-kind 20th century composer, singer, choreographer and ultimate free spirit, Meredith Monk lets her imagination our of the bag in Magic Frequencies on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 3 pm. Outer space, science fiction and folk art are the combined inspiration for her newest music-theater adventure. Virtuoso performers Amy Knoles (percussion) and Robert Black (bass), known to the world as BASSO BONGO close out the Contemporary Voices and Visions series with a bang! This supercharged duo will lead you on an uninhibited adventure on Friday, Feb. 25 at 8 pm in electro-acoustic music that will leave you gasping - delightedly - for more.

As an added attraction, the Performing Arts at Hamilton teams up with Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute on Saturday, March 19 at 2 pm with a very special family production of The Red Balloon. This magic tale is an exciting and moving story which looks at the joys and frustrations of friendship. Visible Fictions, a professional children's theatre company from Scotland, brings on tour their imaginative and captivating production. All tickets for this special performance are $5.00.
