A scene from Roberto Zucco.
A scene from Roberto Zucco.
The Hamilton College Theatre Department presents Roberto Zucco by French contemporary playwright Bernard-Marie Koltes. Directed by Professor of Theatre Carole Bellini-Sharp with a cast of Hamilton College students, the production runs Nov. 6-8 and 12-15, at 8 p.m., and Nov. 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. All performances are in Minor Theater.

Roberto Zucco presents a contemporary hero of mythical dimensions in a series of poetic, fast-moving episodes. Who is Roberto Zucco? A prisoner, secret agent, lover, rapist, student or killer? An attractive and often articulate monster, the play follows Zucco's life as if in a kind of urban labyrinth, where nothing is quite what it seems. A tragi-comedy of our times, the hero of the play searches for a way out--from high security prisons and from the normal restrictions of life in society. Since its premiere in Germany in 1990, Roberto Zucco has become a classic of the modern European theatre.

Tickets are $5 for the general public; $3 for seniors and students. For reservations call 859-4057, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
